Tanzania to host Smart Transport Infrastructure Summit

Tanzania will host a two-day Smart Transport Infrastructure Summit that aims to support investment and reform process in the transport sector.
The event, to be held on July 24 and 25, 2019 at Julius Nyerere International Convention Centre in Dar es Salaam aims to transform the transport sector by leveraging innovative policies, practices and technologies.
The event is sponsored by B&F Global Company Limited (Tanzania) in collaboration with the National Institute of Transport, Tanzanian Ministry of Works Transport and Communication and Dar es Salaam City Council.
The goal of the high level Summit is to share knowledge and thus bring about a political and economic shift to the way Smart Transport infrastructure is viewed.
Topics to be discussed at the Summit, whose theme is “Better Transport Planning and Policies for Smart Infrastructure” include safe roads and mobility, traffic planning and congestion management.
Other topics are road asset management and pavement preservation, resilient transport infrastructure, smart transport and smart cities, innovation, procurement and financing on road, rail and ports procurement and financing.
