Report:Violence against Women and girls in public road transport in Nairobi

In 2017, Flone Initiative conducted a baseline survey to assess the prevalence, nature and response to violence against women (VAWG) in the public transport sector in Nairobi County.

The specifc objectives of the study were to establish the prevalence, nature of and responses to VAWG in public transport and related spaces, determine the existing structures and institutions for addressing VAWG in the public transport sector, examine public attitudes and perceptions towards participation of women in public transport and utilize the information gathered to develop/adapt training materials, develop advocacy plans and implement capacity building programs to address gaps based on program specifc needs.
